Hilton Racks Up Three Wins In 40 mins.
Toowoomba trainer Norm Hilton cleaned up across southeast Queensland on Saturday after starting his winning streak at Doomben with Carry Me Bluey and continuing it at Clifford Park with Tough Taimz and Alinga Star.
Hilton began his conquest at 4.50pm by lining up champion jockey Chris Munce to ride Carry Me Bluey ($2.40 fav) in a quality field of 10 runners at Doomben.

The four-year old gelding’s 1350m Brisbane stint was firmly on his mind, so much so that he did not realise his triumph in the early stages of the seven-race card at Clifford Park until he rang his wife.
“Carry Me Bluey and Tough Taimz won within five minutes of each other. I couldn’t remember what time the first started at Toowoomba, so I rang Tracey and she said he’s won. I was pretty pumped,” Hilton said.
Tough Taimz ($3.70) drew barrier one with Kristy Banks steering and managed to down Bellespy ($19.80) and Winning Dreams ($15.20) by a close margin in the TTC Proudly Supporting Movember Class 1 Handicap 1300m.
Hilton attributed his follow up win 30 minutes later in the K & R Plumbing Supplies Benchmark 75 Handicap 1300m to the way the Benchmark 75 races are structured.
“That’s probably the first one I’ve put a horse in. No matter what class he’s in, he can get a run and you get a good weight.”
“On paper it was a tough race. Alinga Star is a handy horse but the weight certainly helps.”
Nori Yamada carried 54.5kg and sprinted to the lead after the turn into the straight, downing Kneel And Raise ($8.10) by one and a half lengths, with Mirabeau ($3.50 fav) in tow for third.
The four-year-old gelding is right back to his best, with Hilton planning to slot him into a Doomben mid-week.
“There’s a Class 4 1500m mid-week in Brisbane on December 7. In terms of preparation, we’ll keep doing what we’re doing. The horse is pretty fit now, so as long as we keep him happy he’ll go well,” he said.
